With the month of love coming up, February, what comes to mind that you love? It can be so many things.
Some popular items that are always seen for sale are classic paperweights and also hearts of all kinds! There is a heart for everything, mugs, jewelry, wreaths, planters, and the list goes on and on.
Do people use paperweights anymore? Once used as a functional way to keep paper from flying away and getting lost in the neighbor's yard, the paperweight has kissed its original function goodbye. God forbid anyone were to see that love letter that you just wrote and have it fly out the window or get eaten by a dog and your secret or perfect words for your love are revealed or loooong gone...
However, paperweights now fit in the category of repurposed items that can be useful in many ways. I've personally used them to hold down light curtains or just to look good on a desk; they can even be a pleasant reminder of something you care about or an inspiration, if you will.
Paperweights can be used to hold a pen or small flower if there is a hole at the top. They can also sit on a shelf and just be there by themselves as some are gorgeous and do have quite a presence.
However, most of us will find these paperweights at yard sales year round just waiting to catch some shopper's eye! Any time you do not know what to do with an item, you can always Google it or look on Pinterest. There is a wealth of ideas on there and you won't be disappointed.
Whatever you do and collect, make love the focus of your collection. Make it that evey time you look at it or pick it up, you will enjoy it. Your eyes will have a feast and it will bring you joy!
Once again, your creativity takes over. And now back to our paperweight...you've now found a new job for this item (which had so much potential to begin with)!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Yours truly,
C&T
