Back to School Nostalgia

We want to shout out to the back-to-schoolers and some of our more nostalgic readers who remember all of the fun and tactile goodies that we used to bring to school. Things that we would collect and share with our friends, and things that we'd be so happy to be gifted or traded. We so looked forward to bringing them along for the ride during those hectic days in the classroom as youngsters. 

We would prop them on our desks and couldn't wait to share them with our best friends! These "pet" items were so treasured and brought us some comfort and companionship, even for those micro moments between challenging teachers or fellow students!

What Went Wrong at the Garage Sale?

 

Here's hoping you are dreaming of the beach and imagining yourself doing summer, beachy things when the garage sales go SOUTH!

🤣😄 No address on the listing, this one takes the cake! 🎂 What's the secret?

🤣😄 Neighbors who talk too much to the hosts, there is always one at a garage sale!

🤣😄 Items are too expensive. Where is the church yard sale, people?

🤣😄 No prices on items, estate sales, ah, yes, they are guilty of this!

🤣😄 New in box items that you can't open. How long have they been sitting? Are they really considered new, or has the item been melting in a hot attic? 

🤣😄 Packing up at the slightest drop of rain when you just got there!

The Randomness of Estate Sales...

Vaguely familiar things are going on...memories in picture frames, notes left behind, collectibles that are dust-covered and unnoticed, an array of books, notepads, and knowledge that we will never use or absorb in our lifetimes, but it's there and onto the next thing...

The musty smell of a home or garage is always very familiar...old shoes, sweaters, jewelry...something someone did not want, and for what reason?

Music boxes that may chime once and do not really play...the music is gone...love was found, but then lost somewhere...

Someone passed...you respect them and the things they left behind, as now, it's only to give you a good deal or some spring to your step...

Maybe these things are all vaguely familiar to us, and that's why we like these estate sales, as they are like Home and Life...
